I rode that last train with friends. It was amazing cars like that lasted into the 80's. We were in the second car, behind the operating car that was a 1912 parlor car, the one with the diamond shaped windows in the bathrooms.

I even tape recorded the entire trip from Hoboken to Dover. Maggee Hickey from Ch.7 Eyewitness news came through our car with crew, having been dropped off at Hoboken before we left.

The atmosphere that evening was much like the very last ride I took on the Myrtle Ave. el. This was it, no more riding these ancient, but classy cars on the Morris & Essex line.

At Dover, our trip back to Hoboken was by 1973 Pullman-Standard push-pulls. not the same feeling. We all had steak dinner at the Clam Broth House in Hoboken and eventually returned home.

Can't believe twenty nine years has passed and next year makes it thirty.
