Half had brake and HVAC problems.So they over-scrapped by about 70 cars, getting down to about 226. But that was done not knowing ENY would have to take over the V train. Nonetheless, the TA got obsessive compulsive about scrapping rather than mothballing for unforeseen circumstances (again). Those 70 cars could have put the R42 out of their misery a couple of years ago. |
