I was wondering why there aren't any 'ties' long enough for third rail.Direct fixation fasteners. Rail is attached to the concrete track bed on their own grout pads, third rail chairs on their own as well. No need the disturb the third rail grout pads when the running rail grout pads need to be replaced and vice versa. All of WMATA's concrete track beds are built that way. Thing I found odd is there is no escape area under the edge of the station platform like there is under WMATA station platforms. John in the sand box of Maryland's eastern shore. |
