Does anyone wonder why the Northern State Pky takes a hard right before Mineola & then a hard left like an S turn beyond the Meadowbrook before going due east??Story has it that when they were building the Northern State, he Mr Moses, insisted that the Hwy take that routing as to avoid destroying (eminant domaining) many of his well heeled friends estates in that area. Knowing Moses ruthless reputation it seems quite plausable that this happened. Anyone else hear that?? |
