You have to remember that the IND plans- and money- did not forsee the NYW&B going belly up in 1937. Had they known, perhaps the Burke Ave extension of the 205th St "D" might have tied into the former right-of-way at Eastchester Rd- or something else. My guess is that they didn't know exactly what do do with the NYW&B trackage till after the war. |
