LOL!The Lower Manhattan Expressway was to have run from the Holland Tunnel to the Williamsburg Bridge and it was alive during the entire 60s; it was not officially killed until 1971. In fact, the only section of the expressway to have been built is where it would have crossed the Chrystie Subway. It is 156 feet long, parallel to Broome Street and entirely underground. |
