No; those had nothing to do with how deep the PRR chose to build their station, nor the size they chose to build it (they kept Exchange Place Terminal in Jersey City open for another 50 years after NYP started operations). The 7th Avenue subway opened seven years after NYP opened. The 8th Avenue IND line opened in 1932, which was 22 years after NYP opened. The only pre-existing lines adjacent to NYP were elevated, those being the 6th and 9th Avenue IRT els.
