It's the rabbit's warren of offices covering half of the Amtrak floor that is the problem. On the LIRR floor only about half is developed and that is split between office and public space. In the old station there were 3-4 above street floors of staff/office space along each side and the west end.The old service building on 31st ought to be turned into a crew and admin building. Also the undeveloped part of the LIRR level could be floored in as a commuter waiting area. Bill |
