I think something was done to the Jamaica Yard that made the outer loop to be not capable of revenue service. It had been capable for the M/M to just go around the loop, and not have to change ends. This was probably a hold over from the first Worlds Fair and the temporary route the IND had to it. I don't know if this was the "wash" track. Back in the day, the R1/9's did not get a wash externally. |
