Yes. To walk 10 blocks takes about 10 minutes. Doubling back from Rockefeller Center takes almost a half hour.

But for the people who have great difficulty walking 10 blocks, other alternatives (i.e. buses, other trains) should be given.

For 57th Street, get off at Rockefeller Center and use the M5 or M7 bus.
For Lexington/63rd, transfer to the 6 at Lexington/53rd, then walk, or use the M101/102/103 at 3rd Avenue.
For Roosevelt Island, transfer to the Q102 bus at Queens Plaza (Queens Plaza North & 29th Street).
For 21 St/Queensbridge, transfer at Queens Plaza for the Q66 or Q69 buses.
