From what I understood, the four GE R-14's (#5803-#5806) went back to the IRT main lines, most notably the White Plains Road & Dyre Avenue based routes. Supposedy, and witnessing from my own point, the GE R-12's went into work service immeditately and eventually in various forms and paint schemes, carrying first a "3" sticker number added to the front of their side car numbers.

Car #5760 was fully restored in 1976, and became part of the Transit Museum collection. A batch of the other 3rd Avenue El R-12's plus R-14 #5803 I recall seeing in storage at the 239th Street Yard in the Bronx around 1979. Most of them were eventually retired and scrapped, and car #5782 is the other ex-3rd Avenue R-12 still in existence, but it is doubtful at this time if that car will be restored soon (it is a Transit Museum car too).
