Thank you, sir!- for reminding us of this sad anniversary. Some yesrs ago, I bought a VHS tape of NYC elevated, which (among other things) showed footage of this line near the end- the cars already had graffiti. It looked reasonably well patronized to me, and I doubt tearing it down did anything to help The Bronx.In a better political climate, it would have been rehabbed, and the R39 cars ordered. In fact, they'd have come up for replacement themselves by now. Oh well. |
