Back at ya, guy! :PThere's something really cozy about those old Budd cars, trains were once made for comfort knowing you'd be stuck in them for ages. Folks who only know the subways don't know how relaxing and laid back a train ride can be - getting out of your seat, walking around, meeting new people, having pleasant (gasp!) conversations with total strangers, and of course the dining car, bar car and (gasp!) the CIGAR car! Arriving at your destination unfrazzled ... I can see why it's a comforting place for him indeed. Although I'd prefer my own basement train to be more like yours, or perhaps a GP40 with an AAR stand so I can pull the handle out of the stand every now and then, make like Nikita Krushchev with it on the top of the stand demanding quiet because the news is on. (grin) Canada's railroads once defined an entire nation ... I recognize the importance ... |
