Later that day 11/26/67)I was riding the "D" across the Manhattan Bridge at the front window. A women got on the train with her son who was about eight. He wanted to look out the front window but was hesitant to do so because I was there. I was glad to step back and give the little guy the front spot as I could easily see over him. I asked his mother if he knew that he was going through the brand new subway which hadn't been open even 24 hours yet. She didn't know about the opening but her son enjoyed riding the trains and so she had taken him for an outing. Once he found out that he was going through the brand new tunnel he was on Cloud 9.
