The idea behind the MVW train is to separate the Bronx and Westchester commuters during the height of the rush hour. All three lines separate services in the local part of each route at the height of the rush hour. On the Harlem, some trains run to or from Crestwood and trains operating north of here bypass the lower stations, assuring every rider gets a seat. On the New Haven, the line between Mount Vernon and Stamford is divided into 3 sections (MVE to New Rochelle, Larchmont to Harrison, Rye to Stamford). East of Stamford, there are runs which run only as far as South Norwalk and Bridgeport. |
