The CTA is halfway through the second rehab project renewing signals, track, structure on the Wells and Van Buren legs of the Loop. The Wabash and Lake St. sides were done two years ago. So yes, it looks like the Loop is here to stay. A new station is under preliminary engineering. The station will replace Madison /Wabash and Randolph /Wabash. Out in the boonies away from downtown....Red line work at both ends will depend largely on the outcome of the November elections. Vote Republican....nothing will get done. Vote Democratic and Chicago should reap some rewards.David |
