RE: Joe SaittaHello Bill M (Newkirk) I got a Sunday night call from a mutual friend of mine and Joe S, who told me he heard Joe S had passed away. I asked when - and the caller wasn't sure but assumed perhaps during just before or on the weekend. Thats all I heard - so I posted it pending further info. Joe Saitta was a very frequent poster at my NYCTM Group, and his last posted message at my NYC Transit Modelers Group was on Aug. 23, 2012 to an ongoing transit topic. I had not heard from him since then. I did call and email Joe a few times in late August on an ongoing modeling matter we were involved with - and got no reply back. I simply figured he went out of town again for another of his photo jaunts. Obviously and thankfully Mr. RT finally checked and found a bit more detailed info to post here - of even more surprise - that Joe passed away recently but in August - and NO ONE of us here ever knew about it! THAT is quite unfortunate and very SAD to say the least. To think we, his friends, were deprived even of any knowledge of funeral details and arragements.
