According to Frank Comstock at NBC, it was an inside joke about his deal with LAPD back in the radio days to avoid time in the clink. I've heard the Babe Ruth story as well, but supposedly that wasn't it.Glad to hear Steve made out. That episode sounds kinda excessive. |
