Honestly son, when I travel on NJT with a "suitcase" containing broadcast equipment (making the suitcase a tap heavy to lift over one's head and SAFELY place it on the overhead rack) I just slide the suitcase into the "legroom" space in front of my seat (so the top handle of the suitcase comes level with the seat cushion) and sit indian style with my boots over the top of the case... the C/R once commented on how innovative and wise it was to NOT risk putting a heavy case overhead and risk it falling loose or tumbling downwards with the train's swaying and jolting... My suitcase happened to fit perfectly (in an upright position) matching the width of the legroom space given.... and NO, don't ever place your property out of line of sight onboard trains. |
