Brake valves were not an issue, rather a bulletin was issued in 1988 mandating a two second delay before braking after controller off. It did not help with the flat spotting. There was one test car, I am not sure if it was 3043 or 3041 that was re-equipped with J-1 relays and cast iron brake shoes. That test was not repeated |
