We crawled at a snail's pace aling the Sea Beach, then did reasonably well along 4th Ave. Just as we reached the subway portal, one of the crew members changed the front signd fron 4/Sea Beach/57th St. Manhattan via Bridge to D/6th Ave./Concourse 205th St.The old timers really unwound along the 6th Ave express tracks, thundering and blazing all the way. As we pulled out of 7th Ave. and made the turn towards 59th-CC, the front signs were changed once again to A/Wash. Hts 207th St. I hadn't ridden on a train of old timers along the CPW express since December of 1969, so it was a real treat to experience it again. All in all a most delightful day and a rare opportunity to be in the area when a nostalgia run is scheduled. LOVE THOSE OLD TIMERS! Love 'em!! |
