AS for the so called "BMT" station between Pacific and DeKalb, from what I have seen of NYCPSC documentation, that was built in anticipation of the IRT getting the 4 Av subway which did not happen and which caused the IRT to withdraw from the dual contracts for a brief period, As for the contractor "blowing his brains out," that story was also attributed to the 36 St/4 Av station which was originally intended to be south of its present location but was changed when it was decided to use the 38 St cut to connect to the Culver and West End rather that the new turnouts which had been constructed. Neither of those stories has been documented in any of the PSC reports I have from that period. |
