OK, but it would seem that while the giving the T/O more room to operate is nice, it is being done at the expense of giving up operational flexibility in making up a train. Specifically, if all cabs are half-width, there's no issue as to which end ends up at the front of a consist and which ends up in the middle. If you're looking at having only one end with a full-width cab, and that cab is to be for the T/O, you need to always make sure that that end is at either the front or rear of the train. Why give up real utility for something that's just a "nice to have"?subfan |
