I had often wondered about that since I never had the opportunity to ride the BSS prior to the present Kawasaki fleet. Another "rapid transit" company that eventually went to inside door controls was the H & M which originally had outside door controls on the old black cars but had the door controls moved inside sometime before I started riding it in the late 1950s. |
