WMATA's first generation Central Control computer was I believe a Burroughs B7700. They had two of them, one to run the railroad and one for data processing. If the one running the railroad crapped the bed the one normally tasked with data processing could be switched to running the railroad. John in the sand box of Maryland's eastern shore. |
