Nobody but NY transit fans understood the IND nor BMT lettering standards.When the N & R swapped in Queens 25 years ago, people in my office asked me why not just leave the Astoria service as R and Forest Hills as N. They were not aware that the standard is governed by the South Brooklyn Branch while the northern terminus did not matter. |
