Dad and I missed the two exhibition dates, so on one of his days off (a Sunday or Tuesday?) we entered the 207th Street station, looked around, and inquired of the towerman whether it was in service. "Yes, coming north soon." So we rode it south. Of course, the fluorescent lighting, different colors, and the small fans interested me. Dad thought the roller signs were too small (and they became grimy over the years) and the window seats were too squished into the walls).

In 8th grade, the teacher, Mother Camillus, asked for a one-page composition, the "biography" of an object. I submitted "The Biography of Car 1575," born in Berwick. Mom saved the returned composition. Decades later, I had to find the ACF shop in Berwick.
