They're fucking ugly and have an ANNOYING resonance at idle. Thanks to that stupid design 'feature', one can quite literally hear them in the station a mile away, but when running they're quieter. totally the opposite of the old GP-38s or MP-15s.

Of course, when handed to a competent designer, you get something like the PL-42 which is quiet at rest and quiet pulling the train out of the station. Makes the train a much better neighbor.
