E3/4 would have been a terminal track like Whitehall, with southbound trains terminating staying on "E3" from the Lafayette Av line. Heading back "north," they would have switched onto "E4" after departing. Through service from/to Lafayette would have used the constructed switches n/o B-N to the current mainline tracks. I used quotes around the track designations because I don't know what the Lafayette line would have been chained as.
