I just had a thought (a strange occurrence I agree).

Based on what the tiles in SF look like I shudder to think about what is or isn't in the walls behind them.

I get a strange feeling that in order to fix the problem - long term, at some point they are going to have close the new station for a while and re-open the original outer loop station (they'll have to put the turnstiles back in place).
