Details on The REAL Farewell to the Silverliners Trip |

Posted by Jersey Mike on Thu Jun 28 16:23:03 2012 From Larry Eastwood c/o Chuchubob."Both remaining old Silverliners will operate tomorrow night on the last train (#1091) from Center City to Cynwyd, leaving Suburban Station at 7:59 PM. With some encouragement from [a well known individual], SEPTA has informed us this morning that anyone riding the last train to Cynwyd (there is no scheduled return train) will be permitted to remain on the equipment as it deadheads back to Powelton Yard and these people will be dropped at 30th Street. Very nice of Jim Foley, Chief, Rail Transportation, and Butch Koch, Manager of the RROC to arrange this for all of us who want that last ride. The 235 and 9010 will operate as a pair all day on Friday, June 29; alternate cycles on Cynwyd will be covered by other equipment. (I am not sure at this writing which trains they will operate on - we'll just have to show up and see.)" I'm planning to be there and depending on SEPTA's alcohol policy I might bring a bubbly beverage to share about. For those of you who missed the previous Fantrip this is a nice substitute for the cost of an Independence Pass. I am also planning on riding the penultimate round trip departing Suburban 5:53pm. |
