How do we know the city didn't just board it up for a few years in the 40's then in 51 decide to partially fill it in from the top? after all they didn't put that cinder block wall in till later also, you can tell that one wall isn't more than 30-40 years old otherwise it would have alot more Graffiti than just "PHONOH". I was in there in the early 90's and the wall was there so we know in 93 it was up. I noticed the signals and thought it was kinda suspicious but I was there for another reason and dismissed it unfortunately. There's a few things that we know don't add up like the fact there were bulkheads on tracks that are in use as the Pitkin yard leads from the ramp today, why would they wall those up if they were building the ramp? Were they not sure it was going in? That brings a whole new light on the B of T starting stuff they didn't know if they would finish. And the probability of the partial tunnel being built. The design of the layup tracks under Grant ave station aren't normal either with 1 track coming to a wall much sooner than the others. |
