My mistake about Seattle, but the technology existed in the 1950s and was used for Tokyo in 1964, only two years after Seattle's opened.Tokyo Monorail even added passing loops later for express service. Also in Japan, the Shonan Monorail (1970) has always been a single track operation with passing loops at most intermediate stations and runs 8 tph each direction most of the day. |
