Unfortunately, too late for Wagner to prevent the Dodgers from leaving Brooklyn! But, Wagner or no Wagner, Robert Moses ran the Tri-Boro Bridge & Tunnel Authority and the MTA wanted it for their toll revenues. William Ronan got the Tri-Boro by giving Moses a commissioner's job with the new MTA. Once the Triboro was fully absorbed into the MTA, Ronan froze Moses out of most meetings and, the following year, Moses left. "Thus always to tyrants!" |
