The base $66,000 is $33/hour x 40 hours/week x ~50 weeks. The additional $136,000 is $33/hour x doubletime x 40 additional hours/week x ~50 weeks.The article suggested that the extra time was for rules not for staffing that the RR needed for getting the work done. My calculation suggests that the pay was for satisfying the rule in the records, not for being in the shop, because I’ve worked adjacent double shifts and know you don’t keep that up for 5 days a week 50 weeks a year.
