As usual the car ##/built years cited are wrong. Only 250 cars were on the property in 1972. the second Rohr order came later and at a much higher price than the low ball first order (no competitors on bid #2. BART agit prop claims the oldest rapid transit fleet in the US conveniently ignoring the R32s which are 8-9 yrs older. Happily the new cars will have common subway amenities like destination signage (original BART cars had none). |
