You are correct. It is a totally biased story. As Randyo mentioned they don't mention that it is cheaper to do the work on overtime than to hire additional employees.It is one thing to put workers on overtime because or archaic work rules and workers just sit there doing nothing and another where there is necessary work that needs to be accomplished. Changing th rules so that your pension is not determined on your last three years is a legitimate issue, but bringing up the fare is irrelevant to this story. This article is more of an editorial than it is a hard news story. As you rightly point out, they need to tell both sides of the story. The worker giving a no comment answer does not help his case. He coes across like a criminal which is exactly what the Post wanted. |
