I don't know a lot about rabid behavior in animals, except that if you see a racoon in daylight, stay the F*** away from it.

But spesking generally, even if there's never been a known case of rat-to-human transmission, the possibility, no matter how remote, is scary enough. if this were me, or a loved one, I'd enocurage a very serious tslk with a knowledgeable doctor.

A few years ago (like 3 -5), a cave explorer in the UK died from raibies from a bat bite. That was also considered impossible, as supposedly, there's no rabies over there.
