Acutally in NYC you are allowed to park at a broken meter for maximum time listed for that zone. It was always a treat to find a meter that said FAIL on it.And even that is going by the wayside now. The vast majority of meters have been removed, and replaced with ticket-printing muni-meters. And then one breaks down, they expect you to find another one that works. So you're paying either way. |
