You are certainly making an assumption that was not true. The R-32s were failing miserably on the E for at least 2 years before they were moved. To keep in in context, though, when the cars were at Jamaica, the approach to maintenance may have been different. The AC Compressor motors were certainly newer as was the entire HVAC system. Thus the systems ran more efficiently and thus cooler at first. Also consider that the E runs express while the C runs local - hence the doors opened less often on the E - allowing the HVAC system to work less hard.
