For that, express trains were rerouted to the local tracks every night to accommodate the construction. There is no such alternative in the existing LIRR/Amtrak tunnels under 32nd/33rd Streets.MAYBE, it can be a little less arduous if the station faced only two of the tracks? Then at night, trains can run on the other 2. |
