Yep. The 340 4-unit trains will range from 8313-8652. Then there are 60 more R-160As which will be in 5-car sets with numbers 8653-8712. Which would make 8713 the first of the R160-Bs. It is strange to have a car class begin with a number that doesn't end in 0 or 1, but I guess they wanted the numbering to pick up where they left off with the R-143s. There is precedent for this (the R-12s starting at 5703 behind the last Low-V (I think it was a Low-V), 5702). And some R-10s were originally numbered 1803-1852 (I think) behind the last arnine (1802), until they were renumbered 2950-2999. |
