The MTA is a STATE authorized "Authority", created to operate under contract our subways,railroads,buses,some bridges and tunnels. The NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT AUTHORITY Subways,AND ITS RIGHT OF WAYS are owned by the CITY OF NEW YORK..LEASED to the MTA[FORMERLY THE MCTA] IN 1968 UNDER CONTRACT[really a hostile take over] |
