When the line was rebuilt in the 1940's in the Rockaways, it was definitely built with rapid transit in mind, hence the high-level platforms. Even the Woodhaven & Ozone Park stations were built high-level.I'd love to see it restored and re-opened for subway service. It would save a lot of time for cross-Queens commuters, and you'd have another way around possible service disruptions on the Fulton St. line. I want to have the opportunity to ride over that right-of-way in my lifetime. |
