When/if they build the complete Foothill extension, the Blue Line will be a long-ass line (might be longer than the shortest Metrolink route). Will probably be the first MTA rail line to operate out of two yards (Division 11 (North Long Beach) and the new yard that will be built in Irwindale? as part of the Foothill Extension). The East-West Gold Line will be based out of the new yard in eastern Santa Monica that will be built as part of Expo phase 2. Don't know what will happen to the current Gold Line yard just north of Union Station (Division 21). They could always stage some peak-hour trains there to operate Union Station-Long Beach, or something like that. |
