Still to be resolved is the through routing pattern once Blue, Expo, and two legs of Gold are linked.From what I've read (on the L. A. Centric transit board, the routing after the Regional Connector is built will be East L. A. - Santa Monica (Gold) and Pasadena/Monrovia/wherever the Foothill Extension ends up - Long Beach (Blue). Since the latter will be a looooonng-ass route, MTA might implement a short-turn route, maybe for peak hours only, which might have a different color, or maybe just be short-turn Blue Line trains. As part of the RC, there will be a pocket track just north of 7th St/Metro Center station, which could turn the trains without jacking up the through trains. |
