I did a repeat trip during daylight hours yesterday and was generally impressed. Trains get up to a decent speed in stretches with crossing gates between stations. On the return from LaCienega, another motorist made a right run on red in front of the train, confirming my belief this place is an accident waiting to happen. Perhaps an blindingly bright LED sign is needed - other crossings with gates have them.The architecture critic for the Los Angeles Times weighed in today. I agree with him that station platform canopies that neither offer shade nor protection from rain are worse than useless. Note for those with a sweet tooth: The See's Candy Factory store is just steps from the LaCienega temporary terminal. It's open seven days and offers custom selection of candies. Yum! My jones for toffee has been satisfied. |
