I'm sure by now most people on this forum know that that photo is a rather stale April fool joke from several years ago. Also, I should think that anyone who is a SERIOUS 76 St historian would be aware that 76 St was never intended to be a terminal for any service since all available data on the track layout of the IND Pitkin Av subway clearly shows no switches east (RR south) of 76 St to enable trains to be turned back. All the descriptions I have heard of the station shell which, by the way came from many sources who weren't acquainted with each other describe it almost exactly the same way. The station platforms are unfinished concrete and only the S/B platform has any sort of tile work installed with no mention of any tile work on the N/B platform at all. If the many individuals who described it knew each other, I could see the possibility of them all getting together to concoct a story so that their descriptions would match, but these individuals didn't know each other so there would be no logical way that descriptions from such diverse individuals could be that similar.
