I was on the first revenue run this morning at 4:54 am. I was surprised to see all three-car trains on Expo. I expected to see two-car trains since it does take some time to build up ridership. My impressions of the line are generally positive. On the return trip downtown a motorist made a right turn on red in front of the train at Crenshaw despite a no turn on red sign, so I suppose we'll see the usual auto/train encounters until motorists figure out the futility of that. I'm not sure what drove the decision where to install crossing gates since major streets like Vermont, Western, and Crenshaw depend on traffic lights for protection.Salaam, I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures. This morning's roundtrip was completely in the dark. |
