And north Jersey residents who thought their "suffering" by having to change in Secaucus as well.Look at the ridership numbers. The Bergen County, PVL and Main line ridership combined is only slightly more than the RVL alone, 5000 less than the NJCL and only 20% of the NEC. The Morristown line alone carries 50K riders a day and badly needs more Midtown Directs. There's no justification sapping capacity by shorter trains carrying relatively fewer people. Even with ARC or Gateway or whatever it's called being built, all additional capacity should go to more heavily used lines which can exploit an already existing connection to the north river tunnels. |
